Celebrate Differences’ Miles For Smiles 5K

April 30, 2017 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am

MILES FOR SMILES 5K run, 1 Mile and Kid’s Fun Run was created to celebrate the anniversary month of Celebrate Differences, Ryan’s birthday month and to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people who are differently abled.

Why should you run this race? Read what other’s are saying!

“My favorite part of this race was the overall positive and warm feeling that a small community charity event can offer. I felt the dedication and teamwork of this organization. They made everyone feel like a winner. At the end they held a fun run for families, children and those with special needs. These are the kind of events that make me feel proud to be a member of the running community. I was very grateful to be a part of this event and will sign up again next year.”

The scenic course takes you through the heart of downtown Oswego. Water will be available at the 1 and 2 mile markers. Start line is at the south edge of Franklin Street.

Walkers, baby joggers and strollers must start behind the runners. Pets, bicycles, skates of any kind, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles (except wheel chairs) are prohibited. Service dogs welcome.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

Sharon Stredde

Thank you very much for supporting my college education for these four years. I will never be able to repay you for the opportunity that this scholarship has given to me.

…you can always start small, even $25 can make a difference. Remember we can’t take our money with us. Even if it’s just your gift of time. Volunteer and get involved.

There’s no question in my mind that the scholarship I received opened up possibilities.

Marianne Renner

Past Scholarship Recipient & Current Leadership Coach

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
