From the obituary:

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Rosemary Ann Jordan, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on July 17, 2024.

She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence at Bickford of Aurora. She was 95 years old.

Born in Indianapolis. IN to Eugene and Sofie Bihlmayer on April 6, 1929. Along with her sister, Lois, they moved to Aurora when she was 4 years old.

Rosemary met her loving husband Lee William “Bill” Jordan on a double date with her best friend, Caroline Campbell and subsequently married on April 23, 1949. They had 36 happy years together before his passing.

She was the beloved mother of seven children, Darrell (Nancy), Ron (Carla), Nancy (Jack Richmond), Rosalee (David Haeseli), Ken (Egla), Carol (Jim Trudo) and Linda (Lou Morse). Rosemary was a proud grandmother of fifteen grandchildren, Brittany Smith; Christopher and Alissa Jordan; Sarah Bauer and Brad Vonhoff; Aerika Budd, Kegan and Brenna Haeseli; Danielle Pierson, Nick and Dylan Jordan; Quinn and Liam Trudo; and Stephanie Sharkey and Ryan Morse. She was great-grammie to 13 great grandchildren, Landon, Lincoln and Solomon Smith; Jayden and Cameron Bauer; Elvis Budd; Xavier Pierson; Aislynn, Savannah and Noelle Sharkey; and Lexi, Ava and Dahlia Morse, and was always happy and overjoyed to see them all.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill in 1984; loving parents, Eugene and Sofie Bihlmayer and sweet sister, Lois.

Rosemary lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and as a secretary at Bardwell Elementary School. She was an avid reader and practiced yoga until she turned 90.
She had a strong faith in our Lord during her life that sustained her up to her passing.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her sons and daughters strong values that have and will continue to serve them well.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 5, 2024 from 10:30 AM until time of service 1 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, Il 60506.

Richard and Susan Schindel Scholarship Funds

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.
