brown_natalie.jpgThis fund was created upon receipt of a bequest from the estate of Alicemae Brown as a memorial to her granddaughter Natalie Ann Brown.

Alicemae Brown (1927-2001) of Aurora was married to Dr. Edwin C. Brown D.D.S. and assisted him in his practice for twenty years. Dr. Brown died in 1981.

Their granddaughter Natalie Ann Brown (1977-1994) was born in Tennessee.  At the time of her passing, Natalie lived in Yorkville with her family.

She had just completed her junior year at Yorkville High School where she was actively involved in basketball and poms.

Natalie held several part-time jobs while modeling for Fine Image Photography and was a runner-up in the Glamour Models competition sponsored by the publication.

Natalie was survived by her parents Slade and Lory Brown and by her brother Nathan.

Thank you very much for supporting my college education for these four years. I will never be able to repay you for the opportunity that this scholarship has given to me.

Julia H.

[Renewing Scholarship Recipient] Graduate of Hinkley-Big Rock High School

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!

There’s no question in my mind that the scholarship I received opened up possibilities.
