The Dugan Family Scholarship was created to give recognition to the quality of education at West Aurora High School and to honor the academic achievements of both Dugan children.
These scholarships are awarded to students from West Aurora High School who have achieved the rank of 16 at the end of their 7th semester.
Two Dugan children graduated from West Aurora High School with over a 4.0 G.P.A. and both were ranked 16 at the end of the 7th semester. They went on to graduate from college with honors.
The intent of these scholarships is to assist other students with the same opportunity to achieve success in college and in their lives. Education is a priority in the Dugan family and they understand the need for scholarship support in view of the rising educational expenses.
The funding for the creation of these scholarships was made possible through the Estate of Eleanor E. Ayers, the Estate of Robert and Betty Harris, and the Dugan Family.
Created in 2002, the fund became an endowment in 2014.
