
The August W. Fischer, Jr. Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to local graduating high school students who are entering the field of accounting at Aurora University.
August Fischer (1926-2007) lived his entire life in Aurora. He was educated in the East Aurora School System.
He then worked as a draftsman and design engineer for several Aurora companies, including Lyon Metal and McKee Door. While at McKee Door, he was manager of engineering.
Mr. Fischer was a skilled woodworker who enjoyed making beautiful wood projects for his home and family. He also was an accomplished preparer of German delicacies.
He was survived by his wife, Delores Fischer, and two daughters, Jane Price and Julie Bromann, both of Aurora.
