Roger & Marilyn Probst Advisory Fund

Established 2016

The Roger & Marilyn Probst Advisory Fund was created by Mr. and Mrs. Probst in 2016 to be able to have a consolidated charitable vehicle for their philanthropic objectives.

Roger Probst is a graduate of Marmion Military Academy and lifelong Auroran.  Mr. Probst worked at Probst Glass & Screen Shop, Inc., a business that was started by his father.  After taking over ownership of the business, it remained successful until it closed with over thirty years in continuous operation.   With a thirty-one-year career with the Aurora Fire Department, he retired as Chief in 2004.

Marilyn Probst, born in Elyria, Ohio, is a graduate of West Aurora High School.  Mrs. Probst spent many years as the bookkeeper for the family-owned business while also managing the household and children’s activities.  She spent eight years working in various departments of the City of Aurora and retired from Customer Service.

Mr. and Mrs. Probst have three children, Timothy (Donnell), Jeffrey (Jennifer), and Gregory.  In their free time, Mr. and Mrs. Probst enjoy traveling, especially to South Carolina, and spending time with their grandchildren, Jake, Kyah, Noah, and Adler.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

…you can always start small, even $25 can make a difference. Remember we can’t take our money with us. Even if it’s just your gift of time. Volunteer and get involved.

Cris Anderson

Cristina & Thomas S. Anderson Endowment Fund | Tom & Cris Anderson Colonial Advisory Fund

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!

We chose the Community Foundation because of its reputation. It’s well known, established and we can trust them to do the job for us.

There’s no question in my mind that the scholarship I received opened up possibilities.
