The Robert E. Stredde Endowment Fund was created to provide income for the Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking program. Grants from the fund support the charitable needs of the Community Foundation’s service area, including the fields of health care, education, social services, the arts and the environment.
Robert (Rob) Stredde is a 1993 graduate of West Aurora High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Aurora University.
While at West Aurora High School, he was an active member of the theatre department’s stage crew, designing and building sets for the many plays and musicals presented by the school.
He subsequently has given of his time to Marmion Academy, Rosary High School and the Fox Valley Park District by serving as the technical director of their plays and community events.
In 1997, he became the owner and president of Technical Theatre Services. Based in North Aurora, the firm offers audio/video system design and installation for performance spaces, houses of worship, corporate theater, broadcast, portable sound systems, digital signage and many other applications.
In addition, the company provides design, fabrication, integration and project management services for lighting installations of all sizes. Mr. Stredde works throughout the Midwest creating lighting systems, as well as providing service and repairs for all types of lighting control systems.
His love of the outdoors, cultivated in his youth as a Boy Scout, has resulted in his extensive travels throughout the United States and Europe. Because of these experiences, he has developed a deep appreciation of our need to resolve the issues of climate change for the sake of the world and all of its inhabitants.
Rob Stredde is the son of Edward and Sharon Stredde who also created endowment funds within the Community Foundation.
