2014 Scholarship Award Finalization

The following information is for students who were selected to receive a scholarship award for the 2014‑2015 academic year through the 2014 Community Foundation Scholarship Program.

Finalization Information

On June 12, 2014, an email notification was sent to you with information regarding your scholarship award.  The email will include a link to a Finalization Form that you must submit to finalize your scholarship award.

Space is provided on the Finalization Form for you to write a note of appreciation to the donor/contact person for the fund from which your scholarship was awarded.

NOTE:  If you have changed your email address within the last month, contact our Scholarship Program Director at sch@communityfoundationfrv.org to update your file so important communications from the Community Foundation office are not missed.

Processing of Scholarship Awards

The finalization process for scholarship awards will occur during June and July.

Once your scholarship award is finalized, a check will be mailed directly to the school/college you will be attending (in accordance with IRS regulations). Checks will be issued by mid‑August.

If questions or issues arise regarding your Finalization Form, you will be contacted via email and/or telephone.

Notification of Release of Scholarship Awards

An email notification will be sent to you once your scholarship award check has been released to your school/college.

Thank you very much for supporting my college education for these four years. I will never be able to repay you for the opportunity that this scholarship has given to me.

…you can always start small, even $25 can make a difference. Remember we can’t take our money with us. Even if it’s just your gift of time. Volunteer and get involved.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

We chose the Community Foundation because of its reputation. It’s well known, established and we can trust them to do the job for us.

There’s no question in my mind that the scholarship I received opened up possibilities.

Marianne Renner

Past Scholarship Recipient & Current Leadership Coach

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
