Steel Beam Theatre Recipient of $15,000 Grant from Community Foundation of Fox Valley.
Steel Beam Theatre, Kane County Chronicle’s “Best Live Theatre 2016” pick, is proud to announce the receipt of a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.
The grant supports upgrades to the lighting system in the 15 year old facility so that future productions will benefit from a more modern and adaptable system. An independent contractor was chosen to design the new lighting system, and develop an adaptable structure that will allow for add-ons as well as overall improvements to instruments and lighting board alike.
“We are so happy with our new lighting system,” states Artistic Director, Marge Uhlarik-Boller. “We had struggled for the past few years with an antiquated system and this grant has made it possible for us to truly upgrade our lighting capacities. We can never thank the Community Foundation enough for their generosity and support of the arts. We hope our patrons will really see the difference when they visit us this season.”
The first show to benefit from the newly improved lighting at SBT is The Complete Works of Wm.Shakespeare (abridged), which opens Sept 16 and runs thru Oct 9. Visit www.steelbeamtheatre.com for ticket information.
