Meet Alexis, a senior at East Aurora High School. This is his first year in YEP. “I always wanted to have the opportunity to give back in any sort of way. Whether that was volunteering or donating, but I didn’t want to do this by myself. That’s when my school recommended YEP, a program with amazing members that share the same values as me and want to make the world a better place together. It’s important for me to make a difference in the community because the community has been part of my childhood, so I feel a sense of responsibility to make sure my community is doing better and is at its best! Having younger siblings who see me as their role model and having the opportunity to help and guide other youth makes me understand that I can set an example for future generations on the importance of helping in our community and how to do it.
