Accessible Cinema in Downtown Aurora Fund

Established 2022

Making cinema accessible in downtown Aurora combats community deterioration and juvenile delinquency and lessens neighborhood tensions in the downtown area by providing the events in safe, family-friendly locations in collaboration with Aurora Film Society, Aurora Regional Fire Museum, and The Venue.

Aurora Downtown hosts a free, outdoor movie series in the summer months in downtown Aurora. From June through August, the movie series is held on second Thursdays at Aurora Regional Fire Museum and on third Thursdays at Mundy Park adjacent to The Venue. The movie series is open to all and features well-loved movies on the big screen. Movies start at dusk. Concessions are available. Bring your own chair!

Movie sponsorships are offered at three levels: Star Sponsor $500, Popcorn Sponsor $250, and Candy Sponsor $100

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!

We chose the Community Foundation because of its reputation. It’s well known, established and we can trust them to do the job for us.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.
