Save the Maps : Batavia’s Historic Map Quest
The maps, owned by the Batavia Public Library, are the only known set of an east and west side wall map circa 1907 of Batavia, Illinois and are in need of extensive restoration. These maps, 10 feet by 6 feet each, represent the contrast of life more than 100 years ago and today’s highly technological way of life. The historical and educational value is a significant reason to restore the maps for use by all persons: historians, students, citizens from Batavia and any Library patrons.
We invite you to partner with us to restore these historical gems. Donate online here by selecting “Save the Maps” from the box on the upper right of this page.
With immense gratitude,
Batavia Public Library Foundation
