Dr. Charles Boudreau worked for several years as the Director of Student Financial Aid Services at Waubonsee Community College. Over the course of his career, he worked with many students who needed assistance overcoming financial, personal, and/or developmental challenges, including autism. In the last decade, there has been a threefold increase in the number of children identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The dual challenges presented by this increase are to provide services to autistic children and to conduct research into the causes of autism.
The purpose of the fund is to support Aurora University’s Pathways Program, which is designed to help students with autism make a successful transition to higher education and complete their programs of study.
Distributions from this Fund are used to award a scholarship to a student in Aurora University’s Pathways Program under the Boudreau Family Scholarship.
