This fund was created by the Eilert Family as a memorial to Dr. William G. Eilert, M.D.
Dr. Eilert (1906-1976) practiced medicine in the Aurora area for over forty years. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University.
After serving as a lieutenant colonel in the Pacific Theater during World War II, he resumed his medical practice in Aurora.
He was medical director of Copley Memorial Hospital and president of the Kane County Medical Association.
Dr. Eilert also directed several programs for the Visiting Nurse Association and was an active supporter of the Aurora Family YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America.
