Robin M. Hodgson (1947-2010) was a life-long resident of Oswego, Illinois.  She was a graduate of Oswego High School and Drake University.

Shortly after graduating from college, she joined the Old Second National Bank of Aurora where she was employed for thirty-nine years.

She ultimately achieved the position of first vice president and corporate secretary of Old Second Bancorp, Inc.

Mrs. Hodgson served on numerous local and national volunteer organizations, including the Family Counseling Service of Aurora, the Oswegoland Park & Recreation Foundation and the Community Foundation Scholarship Committee.

She was survived by her husband, John Hodgson, two daughters and five grandchildren.

Family and friends have created a scholarship fund in her memory to help local students achieve their dreams of a higher education.

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.
