The Gregory J. Probst Giving Fund was created in 2016 by Mr. Probst to fulfill his philanthropic objectives. Born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, Mr. Probst is a graduate of West Aurora High School and Illinois State University. After working briefly in the banking industry, he returned to his alma mater to manage the university-owned campus computer store. Mr. Probst was employed by the Community Foundation for ten years. He is actively involved in the community serving on the boards of the Aurora Historical Society, the Aurora American Legion Band and the West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education.
