Free Clinic Receives Grant from Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

For 10 years, the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, located in Aurora, Illinois has supported  the mission of Tri City Health Partnership (TCHP) through grants that have provided  medical equipment and office equipment, a phone system , security monitoring system, medication refrigerator and most recently window coverings and a computer work station for the new dental operatory.  The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a non-profit, philanthropic organization that administers individual charitable funds from which grants and scholarships are distributed to benefit the citizens of the Greater Aurora Area, the TriCities and Kendall County Illinois. “For a decade their support has provided grants that have improved our ability to offer quality medical and now dental care to those in the local community who are low-income, uninsured and underinsured,”   states executive director, Shannon Watson. “

Tri City Health Partnership has been providing free quality medical care to central Kane County residents for over 14 years. Since opening the doors in 2001, the clinic has served 3,900 individuals with more than 22,860 on-site appointments. Collaborating and partnering with area medical providers to include Delnor Hospital and local medical professionals who are assisted by a small staff enables TCHP to provide approximately $20.00 in medical care for every dollar donated.

The clinic relies on funding from local trusts and foundations, U-Ways, service clubs, churches, fund raising events and individual donations and does not receive state or federal funding.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

Thank you very much for supporting my college education for these four years. I will never be able to repay you for the opportunity that this scholarship has given to me.

Julia H.

[Renewing Scholarship Recipient] Graduate of Hinkley-Big Rock High School

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
