Bette Jayne Miller, a longtime friend of the Community Foundation, passed away on May 13, 2016.
Bette was a graduate of East Aurora High School and Northwestern University. She worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 52 years.
Travel was one of Bette’s passions, and she saw the world with her sister, Marguerite. Marguerite passed away in 2009, and her family established the Marguerite E. Miller Education Foundation in her honor.

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college.
