PROJECT HELP RECEIVES GRANT FROM Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley
Grant will strengthen the organization’s technology to support families
Naperville, Ill. (Dec. 19, 2014) – Project HELP recently received a technology support grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. The grant will allow Project HELP staff to more efficiently assist families in Aurora and surrounding communities during parent mentoring home visits and parent education workshops.
“This grant will allow our staff to be much more effective in their delivery of service to our families as well as help us have a greater reach in the community,” said Peggy McGuire, executive director of Project HELP. “Staff will be able to use laptops during workshops to provide information more quickly and to assist in the home visiting program to access needed materials. It will also help our interns work more effectively, as they will have technology available to them to develop new resources.”
Through home-based mentoring and parent education training, Project HELP has been serving the community since 1992 and provides parents with the proper tools, tips, advice, and support necessary to create a nurturing home environment that encourages children to reach their full potential.
“We are extremely grateful to the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for this grant and we are looking forward to all the additional outreach and assistance we can provide to families in need,” said Ms. McGuire. “Support like this will allow Project HELP to continue its strong commitment to the field of parent education and child abuse prevention.”
