YEP Member Highlight: Katelin

 

YEP Student Spotlight: Meet Katelin, a sophomore at Oswego East High School. This is her second year in YEP and she serves as the Secretary as well as Co-chair of the Marketing/Communications Committee.

“I was interested in YEP because I saw that they did much more than a few fundraisers. YEP is dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of other youth like me, and I wanted to be a part of something that would truly make a difference. I’m grateful that I can help other youth in the community because they are just like me, and they deserve to have the same opportunities and resources that I have.”

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
