Meet Tatum, a sophomore at St. Charles East High School. This is her second year in YEP and she serves as co-chair of the fundraising and grants committee.
“I wanted to join YEP because I wanted a chance to connect with other communities besides my own in a deeper way. I’ve always been involved with volunteering but when I heard about YEP, that feeling of wanting to do more lit up. Making a difference in the community is important because it’s a great opportunity to realize my privilege and attempt to give that to those who don’t have it. Through YEP, I get the chance to help youth in my community. This has a direct impact on my life too, and I love being able to help people nearer to my age.”
