Zalmon Goldsmith (1915-2009), Aurora attorney and friend of the Community Foundation, leaves extraordinary legacy to his community.
Mr. Goldsmith, 94, of Aurora passed away on Sunday March 8, 2009 at his home.
He was born February 5, 1915 in Aurora, the son of the late Jacob and Pearl (Rossman) Goldsmith.
Mr. Goldsmith was a lifelong resident of Aurora. He practiced law for more than 60 years.
He was a longtime member and past president of the board of Temple B’nai Israel. He served on the board of directors at Provena Mercy Medical Center and the Heartland Blood Center.
In addition, he was active in various civic organizations in the community throughout his lifetime.
His wife Anne passed away on May 1, 2009. She served as a director of the Community Foundation for nine years.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley or to Temple B’nai Israel (www.temple-bnai-israel.org).
